In 1976 General Motors promised that the Cadillac Eldorado Convertible would be the "last great American convertible". About 14,000 vehicles were sold, many bought as an investment. When General Motors reintroduced the Eldorado convertible model in 1984, those who had bought it in 1976 as an investment felt cheated, and brought a lawsuit against the company, which they lost. Actually, the 1984 model was smaller and cheaper. The 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible was the LAST GREAT American convertible.
It was the favourite of the King of Rock, Elvis Presley. Thanks to its special hood folding mechanism, the rear seats are really wide. This car is the best representative of the American dream; simply fascinating!
