Produced in what was then the most modern motorcycle factory in Spandau, West Berlin, these were the first BMW motorcycles with electric start, but they still retained the kick-start pedal. The front fork of the Series 2 was replaced with telescopic forks. A 12V electrical system was incorporated, which today makes them highly sought after for their reliability and their appearance, which makes them look even older than they are. It features drum brakes both front and rear, long cigar-type exhausts, and a headlight with an integrated speedometer and tachometer, with the ignition key in the center of the headlight, just like in the 1940s-50s. As BMW used to say, this motorcycle transports us to new dimensions; the world gains in colors and becomes broader.
